The road to innovation: BizPlace launches Innovation Scouting service to support SMEs and corporates in finding the best startups

BizPlace Holding launches the Innovation Scouting service on the market, aimed at medium and large-sized companies that intend to enter the world of Open Innovation.

Open Innovation is a paradigm of business innovation open to external contamination. According to this model, companies, in order to create more value and to compete better on the market, cannot rely only on internal ideas and resources, but must make use of capabilities and resources from outside, in particular from start-ups, innovative SMEs, universities and research institutes. However, adopting a sustainable and high value-added Open Innovation model requires a significant investment in terms of time and resources. The transition to such a model requires a step change that not all companies are able or willing to make.

These premises have led BizPlace to rethink the traditional paradigms of Open Innovation models, developing a specialised service with high added value aimed at scouting the most promising innovative start-ups to encourage commercial, production and investment synergies through a lean, direct and effective approach.

The Innovation Scouting service was therefore created to meet the needs of companies that intend to innovate their production processes and organisational models, thereby consolidating their competitive advantage in the relevant markets.

The aim of the new service is to organise and promote a virtual Demo Day in which the innovative start-ups most in line with the needs of the promoting companies will take part, making a pitch to illustrate their project. At the end of the contest, the winning start-ups will be chosen and will have access to commercial and investment partnership opportunities. The quality of the selected companies is guaranteed by BizPlace’s many years of experience in the startup and innovation ecosystem, as well as by a consolidated network of strategic partners.

Innovation Scouting is a service that has aroused a lot of interest right from the start: the B2B Software Contest, organised in February by BizPlace in collaboration with TelCo Timenet and Software House Heply, involved 30 target startups operating in the most diverse verticals, from healthcare to food, from sport to education. The Contest ended with the awarding of the three top startups.

Events like this are a great opportunity for all those companies, startups and innovative SMEs that want to expand their business network, make themselves known and develop synergies with established players in the market, which is why the organisers wanted to renew the appointment with the B2B Software Contest every year.
